Picked up the rental car we will use for the whole trip across the country and picked up my best friend from Idaho Falls at the airport in Seattle. Stopped by the Space Needle, hit the rack and then woke up the next day ready for disc golf from Seattle to Boise, Idaho! Played 9 holes at Riverside DGC in Sumner, WA (18 holes). I finished at +2 over par and Jordan (beginner) finished at +12. Backtracked up north to Hanson Ponds DGC in Cle Elum, WA where we played 12 holes out of 18. I finished with +12 over par and Jordan (beginner) finished at +13. History lesson... Cle Elum, WA is the hometown for the only Coast Guard Medal of Honor recipient (Douglas Munro) and I was at his grave in Cle Elum for a memorial service in 2012 for the 30th anniversary of his life.
We are DISC GOLFING across America this summer, CRUSHING CHAINS from coast to coast. These are our stories, some course reviews, and the living history of our journey.
Isaiah Gerke: BM3 in the United States Coast Guard, traveling from Kodiak, AK to his new station in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, via Miami, FL.
Isaac Gerke: Joining up with Isaiah from Salt Lake City to Memphis, TN.
Dan Gerke: Jumping in at Memphis, TN for the home stretch to Miami, FL
